Sharing Good News in Houston
- Houston receives $1.2B to become a hydrogen hub, named one of 7 hydrogen hubs in the nation — Federal leaders say the hubs will bring jobs to the area and transform energy use across the country. More importantly, Houston is known as the “Energy Capital of the World.”
- Space City’s very own tech company could be heading to the moon for 1st commercial soft moon landing in November — “It’s like a rideshare,” officials at the tech company said. The mission is the first of several that will transport cargo and collect data ahead of human exploration.
- Houston City Council approves $250 million fund to move forward with construction at Hobby Airport — Officials now have in hand the first installment toward a $470 million expansion to the William P. Hobby Airport’s western concourse. The work will include seven additional gates, an expanded baggage handling system and baggage claim area, and an overhead canopy over the departures curb to shield airport users from harsh weather.
- University of Houston plans $35M campus transformation to celebrate upcoming centennial, reveals ‘awe-inspiring’ $35M transformation — The project aims to transform several prominent areas of the university and create a stronger first impression of the school.
