Welcome to My Weekly “Women in Construction” Blog!
This week, I’m very pleased to announce my newest role at the Katy Area Economic Development Council. The KAEDC Board of Governors Vice Chair position utilizes my skills, experience, and perspective and allows me to help shoulder leadership responsibilities. I’m certainly up for the challenge!
It’s an honor to serve the Katy Area, a premier location to live, work, and play just 30 miles west of downtown Houston. As a Katy resident since 1983 with a growing Houston-based commercial construction firm, it’s also a delight to do business in the Katy area, the Energy Corridor, West Houston, the greater Houston metroplex, and beyond!
Volunteering Matters
When we, as busy people, strive for some semblance of work-life balance, it can be a challenge to carve out opportunities to volunteer. But the effort is always worth it. Giving back can mean spending time at a food bank, mentoring others, serving on a board, or sharing your favorite organization’s messages on social media. Together in big and small ways, we make our communities the best they can be. Yes, volunteering really does matter!

Danielle Wright is the KAEDC Vice Chair of the Board of Governors. KAEDC is a tri-county Texas nonprofit serving Fort Bend, Harris, and Waller Counties.
